The Seagull by Anton Checkhov

Directed by Ed Bancroft
Performed Wednesday 5th to Saturday 8th March
Sheffield University Drama Studio

Chekhov described The Seagull as a “comedy in four acts”. Its comic nature is revealed through the heartbreak of its characters as they engage in dramas of unrequited love: Kostya is in love with Nina, while Nina is infatuated with Trigorin who is, in turn, enthralled with Kostya’s mother.
